OFF-SEASON
December 1
According to reports,
Devin Williams agreed to a 3 year contract worth $45
million dollars. Before last season, Williams was an elite closer, but last
season with the Yankees he had problems.
November 24
The
Brandon Nimmo trade is official as he waived his no trade clause. The Mets also
sent cash considerations.
November 23 According to a report, the Mets are trading
Brandon Nimmo to the Rangers for Marcus Semien. It is an
one for one trade. Nimmo has spent his entire 10 year
career with the Mets and has a full no trade clause, so he can veto the trade.
Semien finished 3rd in the MVP voting in 2023, but
slacked off in 24 and 25. Marcus is still great defensively.
November 21
Tyrone Taylor
agreed to an one year contract worth $3.8 million
dollars, avoiding arbitration. Also Mike Kranick,
Danny Young, and Juan Castillo were non-tendered, making them free agents.
The
coaching staff is finalized.
November 18
Frankie Montas was
released.
November 14
Edwin Diaz
won the NL Reliever of the Year award.
Juan
Soto is on the first team and Edwin Diaz is on the second team of the All MLB Squad.

Carlos
Beltran, Bobby Valentine, and Lee Mazzilli will be inducted into the Mets Hall
of Fame, the club announced. The date is yet to be announced.
Juan
Soto finished 3rd in the MVP voting and Pete Alonso finished 11th.
Jeff
McNeil had thoracic outlet surgery but should be ready for Spring Training.

The club
extended a $22.025 million dollars qualifying offer to Edwin Diaz. This means
if Diaz signs with another team, the Mets would get a
draft pick.
Pete
Alonso and Juan Soto won the Silver Slugger Award at
their position. It is the first for Alonso. For Soto, it is his sixth award
with 4 different teams, Nationals, Padres, Yankees, and Mets.

Juan Soto
is a finalist for the N.L. MVP Award.
Edwin
Diaz has opted out of his contract, making him a free agent.
The
Mets declined the option on Drew Smith, making him a free agent.

underwent a small procedure on his elbow, but he should be ready for Spring
Training.

The Mets
named Kai Correa as the Bench Coach and Jeff Albert as the Major League Hitting
Coordinator.
Joe
Jacques signed a minor League contract with an Invitation to Sprint Training.
David
Peterson and Luis Torrens are Gold Glove finalists.
October 11
Reed Garrett
underwent Tommy John surgery and will miss the entire 2026 season. He is the
fifth Mets pitcher to have this type of surgery this season.
October 3 Carlos
Mendoza will return as Manager for the 2026 season.
Pitching
Coach Jeremy Hefner, Hitting Coaches Eric Chavez & Jeremy Barnes, Bench
Coach John Gibbons, and Third Base Coach Mike Sarbaugh will not be returning
next season. The Mets had a terrible second half and something had to be done.
Also Catcher Instructor Glenn Sherlock retired
from baseball.
