September 28  According to sources the Mets will retain Manager Terry Collins by resigning him to a two year contract with a club option in 2016. An official announcement is expected Monday.

 

September 24  The Mets reinstated Jordanny Valdespin and send him to Las Vegas.

 

September 22  LaTroy Hawkins recorded his 100th save of his career.

 

September 20  The Mets activated third baseman David Wright from the Disabled List.

 

September 19  Shortstop Ruben Tejada suffered a broken leg. The Mets activated infielder Wilfredo Tovar.

 

Pitcher Matt Harvey elected not to have the surgery now and he is on a rehab program for two months.

The Mets placed pitcher Matt Harvey on the Disabled List because of a tear in his elbow’s ulnar ligament. Harvey may require Tommy John surgery and could miss the entire 2014 season.
