September 28  Pitcher Jeurys Familia is the first Dominican to have 50 saves.

September 25  Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez was killed in a boating accident in Miami, he was 24. Thoughts and prayers are with his family and with the Marlins.

July 7  The Mets placed pitcher Matt Harvey on the disabled list and recalled pitcher Seth Lugo from Las Vegas. Harvey is diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, it is the compression of the nerves near the shoulder. Matt will decide soon whether he will have surgery that will end his season.

July 5  Yoenis Cespedes was voted in by the fans to the All-Star game, and Manager Terry Collins selected pitchers Noah Syndergaard and Jeurys Familia to the team.

Reyes left the Mets when he became a free agent after the 2011 season. José just served a 50 game suspension by Major League Baseball for domestic violence. Hopefully Reyes will be used as a super utility man.
