NEWS AND NOTES

September 30  The Mets back to back 1-0 wins was the first time since 1969.

September 29  In his final game, David Wright went 0-1 with a walk.

September 28  David Wright returned to a Major League field for the first time since May 27, 2016 as he pinch hit in the 5th inning in tonight’s game. Wright grounded out, but being on the field was the most important thing. David’s last game is September 29.

September 26  In a remarkable, memorable, and Hall of Fame caliber season Jacob deGrom finished his season in spectacular fashion shutting out the Braves on 2 hits. Jacob lowered his ERA to 1.70 a Major League Baseball best, and got 10 wins. His ERA is the second best in Mets history. Jacob also struck out 10 tonight finishing 1,000 in his career. Jacob deGrom probably locked up the Cy Young Award tonight.

September 23  David Wright will be activated from the disabled list for the final week of the season. Wright is coming off the DL for the first time since May 2016. Welcome Back Captain!

September 13  In an emotional press conference the Mets and David Wright announced he will be activated from the disabled list for their final homestand of the season starting on September 25, and David will be in the starting lineup on September 29.  Wright hasn’t played in a game since May 2016. It will be the final game of his career. David is the Mets all-time hits leader.

September 11  Jacob deGrom broke a Major League Baseball record by allowing 3 runs or fewer in 26 straight starts. He tied a Mets record by having 21 straight quality starts. However, he is 8-9 while owning Major League Baseball best 1.71 ERA. Unbelievable.

September 9  Anthony Swarzak was activated from the disabled list and Jose Loboton was called up from Las Vegas.

September 3  Drew Gagnon, Dominic Smith, and Jack Reinheimer were called from Las Vegas.

September 2  Noah Syndergaard pitched his first ever complete game.

August 20  Dominic Smith remained with the club while Brandon Nimmo was put on the disabled list.
