August 20  An MRI revealed a blood clot in Tom Glavine's pitching shoulder and he will miss at least 1 start.  Hopefully it is an isolated incident, if not, Glavine will miss the reminder of the season and seriously jeopardize the Mets' World Series chances.  Glavine will undergo more tests this week and the results will be known by Wednesday.

Mets acquired P. Guillermo Mota from the Indians for a player to be named later.  Mota is 1-3 with a 6.21 ERA so far this season.  In the past he was a very effective relief pitcher, hopefully a change of scenery will help him.

July 31  With the news of Duaner Sanchez suffered a separated shoulder, GM Omar Minaya immediately got the Mets more bullpen help.  The Mets acquired P's Roberto Hernandez and Oliver Perez from the Pirates for OF Xavier Nady.  Hernandez is returning to the Mets (he pitched for them last season), he is 0-3 with a 2.93 ERA and 2 saves.  Perez, already assigned to Norfolk, is 2-10 with a 6.63 ERA in 15 starts, but was considered a bright star just 2 years ago.

Mets called up OF Lastings Milledge from Norfolk.

P. Duaner Sanchez suffered a separated shoulder in a taxi cab car accident late Sunday night in Florida.  Sanchez has a grade 4 separation; if surgery is required, he will miss the remainder of the season.  If not, Sanchez will miss 4 to 6 weeks.

Manager, Phil Garner, named 2 P's to the team, Pedro Martinez and Tom Glavine.   For Wright and Reyes this is their first All-Star Game selection.  Wright was also chosen to participate in the Home Run Derby on Monday, July 10.
