October 3  Mets set a franchise record by hitting 38 triples in the inaugural year of the spacious Citi Field. 

September 30  SS Jose Reyes has a complete tear in his hamstring and will require surgery to repair it.  It is unknown whether he will be ready for spring training. 

Will this season ever end?  With just three games remaining, I think it is more than enough time to have a few more injuries, bad fundamental plays, bad managerial decisions, and 3 more losses.  GO FOR IT!

September 12  Mets activated P. John Maine from the disabled list. 

September 8  Mets activated OF Carlos Beltran from the disabled list.  Mets also brought up P. Tobi Stonen from Buffalo. 

September 2  Mets brought up C Josh Thole and OF Nick Evans from Buffalo. 

September 1  Mets activated 3b David Wright from the disabled list. 

August 26  Mets put P. Oliver Perez on the disabled list because of knee tendinitis.  He underwent surgery and will be ready for spring training. 

August 25  Mets put P. Johan Santana on the disabled list because of bone chips in his pitching elbow.  He underwent surgery and will be ready for spring training. 

Mets traded P. Billy Wagner to the Red Sox for 2 minor leaguers to be named later. 

Mets released P. Livan Hernandez and recalled P. Lance Broadway from Buffalo.  They also designated IF Andy Green for assignment. 

August 20  Mets activated P. Billy Wagner from the disabled list. 

August 19  Mets called up SS Wilson Valdez from Buffalo. 

August 18  Mets set a franchise record by collecting 10 hits in one inning. 

August 17  Mets disabled Inf. Alex Cora.

August 16  Mets disabled 3b David Wright and called up Inf. Andy Green from Buffalo. 

August 15  3b David Wright was hit in the head by Matt Cain's 95 MPH pitch in today's game.  Wright was able to walk off the field under his own power, but immediately was taken by ambulance to the hospital.  He underwent a CAT Scan that came back negative, but he is staying overnight for observations for a concussion. 

August 7  Mets designated Inf. Angel Berroa for assignment. 

August 6  Mets acquired SS Anderson Hernandez from the Nationals for a minor leaguer.  Hernandez is hitting  .251 this season. 

Mets disabled P. Jonathan Niese and called up P. Elmer Dessens from Buffalo. 

August 3  Mets called up P. Nelson Figueroa from Buffalo and designated P. Pat Misch for assignment. 

August 2  Mets activated OF Gary Sheffield  from the disabled list and sent down C Robinson Cancel to Buffalo. 

August 1  General Manager Omar Minaya didn't make a trade on the July 31 trading deadline. Minaya is counting on the injured players to return. 

Mets called up C Robinson Cancel and designated P Elmer Dessens for assignment. 

July 27  Mets fired Vice President of Player Development Tony Bernazard for his recent actions that goes against team policy.  However General Manager Omar Minaya stirred things up when he blamed Daily News Mets beat writer Adam Rubin for trying to tear Bernazard down and lobbied for his position.  Afterwards Minaya and owner Jeff Wilpon both apologized to Rubin saying it was the wrong forum to say it.  Minaya said he doesn't regret saying it though.  Wilpon said Minaya is and will be the Mets General Manager. 

July 25  Mets disabled OF Gary Sheffield and promoted P. Jonathan Niese from Buffalo. 

July 22  Mets are investigating Tony Bernazard's recent actions .Bernazard is in charge of player development, allegedly took his shirt off and challenge the Binghamton Double-A team players to a fight.  Also he reportedly had words with Francisco Rodriguez and Johan Santana. 

Owners Fred and Jeff Wilpon gave both General Manager Omar Minaya and Manager Jerry Manuel a vote of confidence saying they will be back next season.  Why, I don't know. 

Mets disabled P. Fernando Nieve and called up OF Cory Sullivan from Buffalo. 

Mets called up Inf. Angel Berroa from Buffalo. 

July 12  Mets sent down Inf. Argenis Reyes to Buffalo.  They also claimed Inf. Angel Berroa off waivers from the Yankees and assigned him to Buffalo. 

July 10  Mets traded OF Ryan Church to the Braves for OF Jeff Francoeur.  Francoeur is currently batted .250 with 5 hrs and 35 rbis.

Mets activated OF Angel Pagan from the disabled list and sent down OF Nick Evans to Buffalo. 

July 9  Mets disabled OF Fernando Martinez and recalled Inf. Argenis Reyes from Buffalo. 

July 8  Mets activated P. Oliver Perez from the disabled list and sent down Inf. Argenis Reyes to Buffalo. 

July 5  Four Mets were selected to this year's All-Star Game in St. Louis; P's Johan Santana and Francisco Rodriguez, 3b David Wright, and OF Carlos Beltran.  However Beltran is injured and will not participate. 

June 24  Mets designated P. Jon Switzer for assignment and called up INF. Argenis Reyes from Buffalo. 

June 23  Mets disabled OF Carlos Beltran and recalled OF Fernando Martinez from Buffalo.  Also Mets designated SS Wilson Valdez for assignment, demoted P. Ken Takahashi to Buffalo, promoted P's  Elmer Dessens and Pat Misch from Buffalo. 

June 19  Mets called up OF Nick Evans from Binghamton and sent down OF Fernando Martinez to Buffalo. 

June 12  Mets disabled P. John Maine and called up P. Jon Switzer from Buffalo.

June 7  Mets activated OF Ryan Church from the disabled list and demoted OF Emil Brown to Buffalo .

May 30  OF Fernando Martinez got his first Major Leagues hit, a single. 

Mets traded C Ramon Castro to the White Sox for minor leagues P. Lance Broadway.  Broadway will report to Buffalo. 

Mets activated C Brian Schneider from the disabled list. 

May 29  Mets acquired minor leagues OF Emil Brown from the Padres for a player to be named later.  Brown will report to Buffalo. 

May 26  P. Livan Hernandez pitched the first complete game for the Mets this season and the first in Citi Field history. 

Mets disabled SS Jose Reyes and OF Ryan Church and promoted rookie phenom OF Fernando Martinez from Buffalo. 

Mets acquired SS Wilson Valdez from the Indians for cash considerations.  Valdez is a defensive shortstop. 

OF Carlos Beltran is out until Friday with a bruised knee. 

May 21  SS Jose Reyes has tendiniis in his right calf and is day-to-day.

May 18  Mets disabled IF Alex Cora and called up IF Ramon Martinez from Buffalo. 

Mets activated P. Tim Redding and sent down P. Jonathan Niese to Buffalo.

1b Carlos Delgado underwent successful hip surgery and is expected to be out at least ten weeks. 

May 16  Mets disabled 1b Carlos Delgado and activated OF Angel Pagan from the DL.

Mets' 13 stolen bases over a three game span is a new club record. 

May 14  Mets set a single game franchise record by stealing seven bases. 

May 9  CF Carlos Beltran is the first player to hit a home run on the left field landing at Citi Field. 

Manager Jerry Manuel was suspended one game and fined by MLB  for his aggressive actions and arguing in the May 7 game. 

May 7  3b David Wright became the first Met to hit a home run in the black section beyond center field at Citi Field. 

May 6  Mets disabled P. Oliver Perez and promoted P. Jonathan Niese from Buffalo. 

P. Johan Santana was named Pitcher of the Month for April.  Santana was 3-1 with a 1.10 ERA.

April 28  Mets released P. Freddy Garcia. 

April 27  C Omir Santos hit his first career home run, a grand slam, and drove in his first career rbis.  The grand slam is the first at Citi Field.

1b Carlos Delgado has a sore hip and will be out for a few days.

April 26  Nationals' Austin Kearns became the first player to hit a home run in the black section beyond center field at Citi Field. 

April 25  Mets signed Inf. Mike Lamb to a minor leagues contract. 

April 20  Mets signed OF Wily Mo Pena to a minor leagues contract.  Pena began the season with the Nationals.

April 18  Mets called up P. Nelson Figueroa from Buffalo and designated P. Darren O'Day for assignment.  P. Mike Pelfrey has forearm tendonitis and will miss his next start. 

April 17  OF Gary Sheffield hit his 500th home run which was his first hit as a met.  He is the 25th player to reach 500 and the first ever to do it as a member of the Mets.
