October 2  All indications are both Manager Jerry Manuel and General Manager Omar Minaya will be fired at the conclusion of the season. 

September 30  Outfielder Carlos Beltran is done for the year with an inflamed knee. 

September 22  Pitcher Bobby Parnell is done for the year with an elbow injury. 

September 18  Infielder Jose Hernandez is out for the season with a broken foot. 

September 16  Pitcher Johan Santana underwent successful surgery. 

Pitcher Jenrry Mejia is finished for the season with a right shoulder strain.

September 10  Pitcher Johan Santana will have shoulder surgery and is expected to pitch again by Spring Training. 

September 6  Mets activated pitcher Sean Green from the disabled list and called up outfielder Jesus Feliciano. 

September 5  Mets called up pitchers Dillon Gee and Raul Valdez and outfielder Nick Evans.

August 28  Mets brought up infielder Jose Hernandez from Buffalo and sent to Buffalo outfielder Jesus Feliciano. 

August 22  Catcher Rod Barajas was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers.  Mets called up outfielder Jesus Feliciano from Buffalo. 

August 20  Mets activated catcher Rod Barajas from the disabled list and sent down outfielder Fernando Martinez to Buffalo. 

Major League Baseball Player Association filed a grievance against the Mets for Francisco Rodriguez. 

August 17  Mets placed reliever Francisco Rodriguez on the disqualified list due to the fact that he tore a thumb ligament during a fight with a family member at Citi Field.  Rodriguez was in violation of his contract.  Also the Mets are seeking to non guaranteed Rodriguez's contract until he is able to play again.  Rodriguez underwent successful surgery and should be ready for Spring Training. 

Mets called up pitcher Ryoto Igarashi from Buffalo. 

August 13  R A Dickey pitched the second one hitter this season. 

Mets reinstated reliever Francisco Rodriguez after the game and called up pitcher Pat Misch from Buffalo.  Mets sent down pitchers Ryoto Igarashi and Raul Valdes to Buffalo.

August 12  Mets put reliever Francisco Rodriguez on the two day restricted list because Rodriguez was involved in a fight with his Father in Law after the game Wednesday night.  The fight happened just outside of the Mets clubhouse in front of the other players' family members and kids.  Rodriguez was charged with third degree assault and he spent the night in the jail cell at Citi Field.  Rodriguez pleaded not guilty and was released on his own recognizance.  Rodriguez is scheduled to be back with the team Saturday.

August 7  Mets promoted outfielder Fernando Martinez and infielder Ruben Tejada and they sent down outfielder Jesus Feliciano to Buffalo and released infielder Alex Cora..

July 30  Mets disabled outfielder Jason Bay and called up outfielder Jesus Feliciano.

Mets traded first baseman Mike Jacobs to the Blue Jays for a player to be named later. 

July 27  Manager Jerry Manuel was suspended one game by Major League Baseball for his actions in Friday's game.

July 23  Mets designated pitcher Fernando Nieve for assignment and called up pitcher Manny Acosta from Buffalo.

Third baseman David Wright earned the Player of the Month for June.  Wright batted .404 with 6 hrs and 29 rbis for the month. 

Mets placed utility man Fernando Tatis on the disabled list and called up pitcher Raul Valdes from Buffalo. 

July 4  Third Baseman David Wright was selected to his fifth All-Star Game.  Shortstop Jose Reyes was chosen as a reserve, it will be his third All-Star Game appearance. 

July 2  Mets signed pitcher Brian Bruney and catcher Michael Barrett to a minor leagues contract. 

June 24  Mets called up catcher Josh Thole and sent down pitcher Raul Valdes to Buffalo. 

June 23  R A Dickey became the first Met to win 6 straight games in his first 7 starts. 

Pitcher Johan Santana was involved in a sexual assault charge on a golf course in October 2009.  However, there was little evidence and no police charges were filed. 

Pitcher Bobby Parnell was called up from Buffalo. 

June 20  Mets demoted pitcher Jenrry Mejia to Binghamton.  They also acquired outfielder Jorge Padilla from the Blue Jays and assigned him to Buffalo.

April 18  Mets and the Cardinals played a six hour 53 minutes marathon game that lasted 20 innings.  It is the first victory in club history which a game lasted 20 or more innings.  Pitcher Mike pelfrey got his first career save.  Mets used 24 of the 25 players, only pitcher Oliver Perez didn't participate in the game.
