September 29  Shortstop Jose Reyes became the first Met ever to win a National League batting title.  Reyes batted .337.

September 27  The Mets picked up the option on Manager Terry Collins contract for 2013.  It was well earned. 

September 18  The Mets and pitcher Tim Byrdak have agreed on a contract extension for the 2012 season. 

September 9  The Mets called up pitcher Dale Thayer.

September 6  The Mets called up outfielders Mike Baxter and Val Pascucci and pitcher Chris Schwinden.

September 2  The Mets called up pitcher Daniel Herrera.

The Mets activated outfielder Angel Pagan from the Disabled List and sent down outfielder Fernando Martinez to Buffalo.  The Mets also designated pitcher Pat Misch for assignment and called up pitcher Dale Thayer from Buffalo. 

Hedge fund analyst David Einhorn was selected to become the Mets minority owner.  Einhorn paid $200 millions for 20% of the club.  Final approval must be made by the majority of the Major League Baseball owners.
