October 5 Jeff McNeil is the National League Batting Champion. Jeff won
it over Freddie Freeman with a .326 average.
The Mets finished the season with a 101-61
record, the second best in franchise history. Only the 1986 team finished with
a higher record at 108-54.

Broadcaster Gary Cohen is named as a finalist
for the Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasting excellence and contributions to

October 4 For the fourth time in franchise history the Mets reached
100 wins.
For the first time in franchise history,the Mets hit back to back
to back home runs to lead off a game. Brandon Nimmo, Francisco Lindor, and Jeff

September 18 Joan Hodges passed away at the age of 95. Joan was the wife
of Gil, who was the manager of the 1969 World Championship club. Joan witnessed
her husband to go in Hall of Fame in July.

record by allowing 3 runs or less in 40 straight starts.
Mets pitchers struck out 20, breaking a
franchise record and tying a Major League Baseball record.

September 16 Longtime Mets catcher John “Bad Dude” Stearns has
passed away, he was 71. Stearns played for the Mets from 1977-84 and was a
4-time All-Star. John attended Mets
Old Timers Day 3 weeks ago and even took a few practice swings in the batting
cage. He died of cancer.
September 15 Francisco Lindor hit a home run on Roberto Clemente Day.

his first hit and rbi.

Sandy Alderson will step down as soon as they hire a new person for the job.

In a surprising announcement ,
Steve Cohen and the Mets organization announced they will retire baseball icon
Willie Mays’s number #24. Mays played for the Mets in 1973 & 74, his
last 2 seasons of his career. Willie led the Mets to the N.L. East pennant in
1973.

has spent 4 decades with the team and he was the

May 23 David Peterson was called up from Syracuse and Jake Reed was
demoted to Syracuse.
May 21 Chris Bassitt and the Mets avoided
arbitration by agreeing to an one year contract worth $8.8 million dollars. The
deal also includes a $19 million dollars mutual option for 2023.
Starling Marte came
off the Bereavement List.
Jake Reed and Adonis Medina were called up from
Syracuse. Medina is the 27th man for today’s doubleheader.
May 20 Trevor Cahill was signed to a minor league contract. Cahill was
1-5 with the Pirates last season.
May 19 Max Scherzer was put on the injured list with a moderate to
high oblique strain.
May 18 Max Scherzer left tonight’s game in the 6th
inning due to left side tightness. He will have a MRI
tomorrow morning.
May 17 Starling Marte was put on the
Bereavement List due to the death of his grandmother. Jake Reed was called up
from Syracuse.
In between games Jake Reed was sent down to
Syracuse and Adonis Medina was up from Syracuse.
May 15 Tylor Megill was put on the Injured
List and called up Colin Holderman from Syracuse.
May 13 James McCann was put on the injured list and called up Patrick
Mazeika from Syracuse.
May 10 Sean Reid-Foley will have Tommy John Surgery and will return
sometime in 2023.
May 8 The Mets are the first team in Major League Baseball this
season to reach 20 wins.
May 5 With tonight’s win, it was the first time in 25 years
(August 1997) for the Mets to comeback from a 6+ deficit in the 9th
inning to win.
May 2 Major League Baseball suspended Manager Buck Showalter one
game for hit batsman altercation.

April 27 Mets and Cardinals engaged in a bench clearing brawl as
tensions escalated after a Met was hit by pitch for the 19th time so
far this season. After J D Davis was hit, Yoan Lopez
threw a pitch up and tight to Nolan Arenado, and he charged the mound. Even
though there were no punches the Mets were very mad at how many times they got
hit. Hopefully Major League Baseball will look at what types of baseball they are
using.
For the first time in franchise history the Mets
have won 6 series in a row to start a season.
April 24 Yoan Lopez was recalled from Syracuse and Adonis Medina was
demoted to Syracuse.

April 15 The statue of legendary and Hall of Famer Tom “The
Franchise” Seaver was unveiled before the Home
Opener. The enormous statue is next to the big apple outside of Citi Field. It
was long overdo.
