October 9  For the first time at Citi Field the Mets have clinched a Post-Season series at home.

October 6  Mark Vientos became the first youngest player in Major League Baseball history to have 3 extra base hits in a Post-season game.

September 9  Legendary Met Ed Kranepool passed away today, he was 79. Kranepool played his entire 18 year career with the Mets. Ed will forever has the most hits at Shea Stadium. Ed was a member of the 1969 World Series Championship club,  and he was a member of the 1973 National League Championship Team.

July 1  Brandon Nimmo fainted, slipped, and fell in his hotel bathroom in the middle of the night. Nimmo went to the hospital and all of the tests were negative. He is day to day.

June 24  Major League Baseball suspended Edwin Diaz for violating the league’s foreign substance policy.  The suspension is for 10 games. It is unlikely Diaz will appeal the suspension.

June 23  Edwin Diaz was ejected from the game tonight using a foreign substance on his pitching hand. It isn’t known yet whether he used a foreign substance or too much of a legal substance. The ejection also comes with a 10 game suspension.

June 22  Sean Reid-Foley was put on the Injured List and Danny Young was recalled from Syracuse.

June 18  Legendary Hall of Famer and baseball icon Willie Mays passed away this afternoon. He was 93. Willie played for the NY/SF Giants, then he ended his career with the Mets and was a big part of the 1973 National League championship team. Mays hit 660 home runs in his luxurious career.

June 1 The Mets retired Darryl Strawberry’s number, #18, in a pre-game ceremony. Darryl thanked the Cohens, his former teammates, the fans, his children, and lastly his wife. Darryl suffered a massive heart attack on his birthday, March 12, and his wife was with him every step of the way. Also Strawberry told the current club that NY Mets fans are the best fans to play for and to embrace it.

April 14  Dwight “Doc” Gooden’s number #16, was retired in a pre-game ceremony at Citi Field. Gooden thanked Steve Cohen, his teammates, and the fans for this honor. Dwight is a member of the 1986 world championship team.

April 9  Longtime Met catcher Jerry Grote passed away,  he was 81. Grote was instrumental with 1969 championship team and 1973 pennant championship team.

Yohan Ramirez’s suspension was reduced to 2 games and he began serving it tonight.

March 31  Major League Baseball suspended Manager Carlos Mendoza for 1 game and Yohan Ramirez for 3 games for throwing behind Rhys Hoskins in yesterday’s game. On Opening Day Hoskins slid in hard into second base and Jeff McNeil.  McNeil took exception to it and begin jawing at Hoskins, both dugout and bullpen emptied, but no punches were thrown. Carlos Mendoza served his one game today, while Ramirez is appealing his.
