SPRING NEWS

March 16 Ryan Clifford blasted a 2 run home run in the Mets Spring Breakout game.

Manager Carlos Mendoza named Clay Holmes as the Opening Day Starter.

March 13 Jeff McNeil is the latest to miss significant time with an injury. McNeil sustained a right oblique strain and will miss 3-4 weeks and Opening Day.

March 9 Francisco Alvarez fractured his hamate bone in his left hand and is expected to be out at least 6-8 weeks. Alvarez suffered the injury during batting practice in yesterday’s game. Francisco will have surgery tomorrow.

Sean Reid-Foley cleared waivers and will report to Syracuse.

March 4 According to a report, Sean Reid-Foley is being released.

February 28 Sarah Seaver, daughter of legendary Met Tom Seaver, passed away at the age of 53. She battled cancer.

February 27 Jose Urena was signed to a minor league contract.

February 26 Alexander Canario was acquired from the Cubs for cash considerations.

February 24 Sean Manaea has a right oblique strain and will be out until mid April and will miss Opening Day. Manaea suffered the injury during his first side session of the spring training.

Nick Madrigal fractured his left shoulder during the first spring training game and will be out for a long time. Madrigal was expected to battle for the last roster spot as an utility player.

Frankie Montas sustained a high grade right lat strain and will be out until mid June at least. Montas felt the injury in early February.

February 13 Drew Smith agreed to an one year contract. Smith is due to miss the entire 2025 season after he had Tommy John Surgery in July.

February 9 Pitchers and catchers are reporting February 12, the rest of the team reports on February 17.
